London School of Economics International Challenge
A big thank you to LSE EPIC committe
We are very happy to announce the biggest donation to Seeducation so far by the London School of Economics Enterprise International Challenge (LSE EPIC) committee. Of 4 days of competition, two were run by Seeducation, the strategy challenge and the social enterprise challenge.
Within one day of the social enterprise challenge, the participants wrote a business plan, raised awarness about the social enterprise idea by get a pool of supporters and pitched their idea to a panel of social enterpreneurs.
If that wasn't impressive enough, they also managed to raise £177 for Seeducation!
We are very thankful to the whole LSE EPIC team to make this possible, and to Folusho, the Director of EPIC 2010, who lead her team to organise a fantastic event. The entire competition ran smoothly, and participants were thrilled: congratulations for your great achievement!
Thank you again for supporting social change, we look forward to cooperate with you again.

EPIC is a five-day international entrepreneurial skills competition involving bright and ambitious student teams from across the globe to take part in Apprentice-style challenges. This year EPIC will be running in the week beginning 22nd February 2010. It really is an international student competition and previous teams have come from the USA, Argentina, Malaysia, India, Canada, Croatia, and of course the UK!
- Adwoa Owusu-Akyem, Organiser at EPIC

The event has been running for 5 years, attracting well-known entrepreneurial leaders and inspirational speakers such as:
- Karan Bilimoria, CEO of Cobra Beer
- Charles Dunstone CEO of Carphone Warehouse
- Caprice Bourret CEO of By Caprice Lingerie
- Michelle Dewberry CEO of Michelle Dewberry Ltd
Previous teams have come from the USA, Canada, Thailand and Hungary. The 2009 finals were hosted at the LSE, with the £3,000 cash prize ultimately being won by the McGill University, Canada.
The competition will be divided into 4 days:
- The Sales Challenge
- The Marketing Challenge
- The Strategy Challenge
- The Social Enterprise Challenge
The Social Enterprise Challenge
On the last day of the competition, Seeducation will be running the Social Enterprise Challenge. For this challenge, each team will be able to put in practice the learning and skills developed through each of the previous challenges. Creating a social enterprise is a vast task that requires a broad range of skills and knowledge. Each social enterpreneur has her/his own style and strenghts. There is not one way to create a movement and succeed, "Every path leads to Rome".
Throughout the day, each team will have to set up a social enterprise. They will have to chose their strategy and plan of action as they can gain points through developing the idea, building a business plan, creating a sustainable financial model, recruiting supporters, increasing their network, pitching their ideas, raising funds and planning the next steps.
Seeducation is thrilled to be working for the second year with the London School of Economics' Enterpreneurs Society!
In our mission to provide a world class competition for students, Seeducation has given us the advice and guidance to attract some of world's best students. Seeducation has committed itself to creating an environment where people are intellectually nourished and can practically implement their ideas to have a wider social impact. This has been an inspiration for the committee members of EPIC 2010 to be better than before, and to fulfil our dream of encouraging entrepreneurially-minded individuals who have a passion to positively change their world.- Folusho Fabowale-Makinde, Director at EPIC
