Johariii - How well do you know yourself?
Johariii!
How well do you think you know yourself? Do people actually perceive you the way you think you project yourself? Is there anything other people know about you that you have no idea about?
The Jo Hari window was invented in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. The purpose is to let you discover how accurately you project yourself to others, and what they really think about you (!!)
Give it a go and send it to your friends/family/work colleagues! It takes 5 minutes and you’re guaranteed to learn something new about yourself and the way people perceive you...
Click here to make your own Johari window!
The results will fall into one of the following categories. If you’re interested, this is a short summary of what each one means.
> What you and others know about yourself (open)
If you find a commonality between how you perceive yourself and how others perceive you, it means you have a clear brand. This points to self awareness and good communication.
> What you know about yourself that others don't know about you (hidden)
This is like never using the fine china! The more people know about you and your qualities, the easier it is to express yourself coherently and make the most of your individual talents.
> What others know about you that you don't know about yourself (blind)
Sometimes we all need to take a step back, and listen. Others can be good mirrors and teach us a lot about ourselves. By asking others about what they know about you, you increase self awareness and gain a feeling of stability.
> What you and others don't know about you (unknown)
This is your blind spot – the qualities that neither you nor others know about you. The only way to find this out is by trying new things, taking on diverse responsibilities and involving yourself in a wide range of experiences! If you don’t try you’ll never know...
We hope you've enjoyed this exercise. It is one step towards improving your self-awareness, communication skills, and your unique brand. We are happy to share more stuff like this with you, and will be posting more interesting videos, articles, photos of our recent exploits, cool blogs to watch out for and much more...
